Driving to the shops might seem the simplest option – especially when you’ve got lots of bags to carry. But it is possible to cut your journeys. Could you hire Car Bute once a week for your large shop?
If you mostly shop at one supermarket, try to buy everything you need that week in one go, rather than making several trips.
- Support your local shops wherever possible, especially if you can walk there and hire the car for the once a week shop.
- Co-ordinate your activities and appointments. If you’re driving to the doctor or dentist, can you fit in the shopping on the way home?
- Offer to collect neighbours and friends and all travel together
