We are expecting some new arrivals at Bute Produce this year. New skills, new knowledge and new environment are all needed to make our guests feel welcome.
One member of the team is going through a training programme, and will share the learning with everyone at the garden. A special space has been selected and is BEEing prepared. With wild flowers to the left and young wild cherry saplings to the right, we hope to build a buffet of pollen.
You can help. We are looking for donations of heather plants to add to the mix of natural foods. Ideally, we would like a range of heathers that give our little pollinators food for as long a season as possible. We would welcome any donations but are particularly looking for varieties that give winter and spring flowers.
A small area near to bee hive will be planted with heathers. And we would love to make the mound at the car park a heather winter garden, should we gain enough donations.
