Breathtaking Bute: Capturing the Island’s Wildlife with John Williams

Our recent Wildlife video project took the Bike Bute team on a journey (on two wheels, of course!) that highlighted the incredible wildlife found on the Isle of Bute. This is one of a suite of videos created to showcase what the island offers to those with specific interests, including birders, heritage enthusiasts and food lovers.

More than a thousand words …

But what truly elevated this video and brought Bute’s fauna to life was the stunning photography of John Williams. John, a professional photographer who’s been sharing his remarkable wildlife photos with the Bute community for years, generously allowed us to use his images.

John’s photos do what words simply can’t – they capture the essence of Bute’s wildlife. From woodland birds and majestic red deer to playful otters frolicking on our shores, his photographs showcase the island’s diverse ecosystem in stunning detail.

By incorporating John’s work, we created a video that transports viewers to the heart of Bute’s vibrant wildlife scene. Our hope is that by showcasing all that Bute offers for wildlife enthusiasts, we can inspire visitors to experience the island’s wonders just as the Brandanes (locals of Bute) do!

We’re incredibly grateful to John for his generosity on this project. His contribution was instrumental in creating a video that not only celebrates the beauty of Bute’s wildlife, but also highlights the importance of conservation efforts on the island.

See more of John Williams’ work.
